Day #40

Forty days and Forty nights… or something like that.  Florida was completely uninspiring tonight… uninspiring until I returned to the theatre for the third time and saw two people, (friends of a company member) sitting in the house for soundcheck.  Florida is notoriously known for having older audiences at Broadway shows across the state.  Various reasons for why this demographic is so prevalent in the theatre down here, most of which seem very obvious, and therefore don’t need to be spelled out here.  Regardless, the site of these two patrons sitting in a completely empty theatre, with focus pulling into them through the mass of seats seemed too perfect NOT to photograph.  These two guests proved to be entertainment for at least 30 minutes during sound check as we lost count of the security guards, ushers, and theatre personnel that came to talk to them and tell them that they were not supposed to be there…  if only they could hear the voice of god emanating from the sound system explaining their existence in the theatre and reassuring the venue team that they were in fact ok to be sitting there.  …and who said sound check was boring.  More tomorrow.
