Another amazing day here in Greenville, spent with Crystal and my camera in Falls Park. Sunshine and blue skies with white fluffy clouds blowing by provided the backdrop for today’s photo of the day. Using a circular polarizer to dull down the brightness of the sky and bring out some more of the color, and using a flash sync’d to the camera and mounted into a small softbox modifier to light my gorgeous fiancé and bring her out of the shadow of the sun behind her. The softbox is the black and white line that is actually cutting into the image on the top left corner, I selected and copied that graphic in photoshop, rotated it 180 degrees, and stuck it back in the bottom right corner as well. Gives the image an interesting framed element, especially for something that started out looking like a mistake.
Crystal and I spent some time today walking around the park being photographed by Amy, an aspiring photographer on tour with us here on MEMPHIS. It was an interesting experience being on that side of the lens for a photographer, Crystal kept me calm, and I like to think I kept her calm as well. Hopefully we end up with some nice photos of the two of us to remember this amazing 10-day life-changing trip. Crys heads home tomorrow, and unfortunately, I will remain here in Greenville for the weekend before heading to Cleveland for the next two weeks. Cleveland has a lot of photographic history for me, and I have been able to create quite a few of the photos in my portrait portfolio there. Hopefully this time will not be much different. Regardless, more from Greenville tomorrow. until then.
